Young People Summer Camp 2025
This event is for participants aged 18 to 24. No prior knowledge of arts and visual studies is required.
Young People Summer Camp invites participants to experiment with the infinite possibilities of creativity! Over four days, you will work closely with artist-instructors to reflect on the essence of artistic creations, explore different forms of expression through various mediums, and gain insight into how the themes of the Camp are relevant to our daily lives.
Lived experiences leave traces on our thoughts, subtly shaping how we understand the world. How can we keep an open mind to perceive and understand the cognition brought by memories?
This year's theme is ‘The Memory Makers’, inviting young people to draw inspiration from daily life and explore the relationships between different objects, spaces, and the memories they carry. Led by artist-instructors, participants will discover and record some unnamed traces of memory, attempting to reinterpret these through new perspectives and transform the habitat accumulated from memories. Throughout the process, we will construct new personal narratives, creating fragments of memory for future generations to reflect upon.
The process emphasises self-discovery, practice, and sharing with like-minded participants through conversation, play, and exploration. In addition to workshops, you can visit the M+ galleries to draw inspiration from its collections and go to places outside of the museum with the instructors to transform moments of your daily life into creative works.
